We make our way to the surface before calling Marcus. "You guys okay?" It's sweet that he's concerned.

"We activated the pentagram and were teleported to the entryway to Hell." Riley is nonplussed. "There was a demon, but we took care of it." Riley looks at me. "Well, Chance took care of it mostly."

Marcus looks impressed. "Good job, kid."

"Thanks." I beam at the praise. Maybe I'll be a decent demon hunter yet.

"Anything else interesting to report?"

Riley looks at me, probably hoping I won't say anything about the demon recognizing him. Things are going really well between us now, if we can be called an "us," so for his sake, I simply say, "No, nothing interesting. Just a big ol' doorway no longer being guarded by a demon."

"We may be able to use that to our advantage," Marcus muses. "I'll have to check with the Ops Branch to see how we can capitalize off this. Good work, boys. It's time for you to head home for some R&R. You've earned it." Marcus's face disappears from Riley's phone.

"R&R?" I look at Riley quizzically.

"Rest and relaxation." There's a hint of mischief in his eyes. He walks over and cups my crotch through my jeans. "I can think of about a dozen ways to fill the time." He starts walking towards the car.

Tingling all over, I hurry behind him. "And how often do we get R&R?" I ask. Purely for scientific reasons, of course.
